Kozmus decided for preparations in San Diego mainly due to the pleasant weather conditions and the Olympic Centre, which is equiped at top-level and can guarantee suitable conditions for the champion.
 

Kozmus gathered his first impressions in the following manner: »Everything goes as planned. We were warmly received in San Diego and I already managed to arrange all formalities regarding the organisation of training and life in California. The Olympic Centre is really fantastic and the weather aslo enables me to thhrow outside as the daily temperatures range about 20 degrees. This year I didn't take a monthly brak as it was usual in the previous seasons. Instead, I now do my trainings in the method 2-1 (2 days of intensive training, 1 day of rest), which I will eventually change in 3-1. In the beginning of December a masseur willjoin me in San Diego, while the coach Ogorevc will arrive to San Diego in January. «
 

The Olympic Centre Chula Vista, which was opened in 1995, hosts about 4000 athletes annualy. Apart of the athletic facilities, it includes grounds for football, rowing,hockey, tennis,cycling and other sports. It was opened for the preparations for the future American Olympians and also encompasses accommodation facilities, restaurants and development programmes for athletes.
